Handicapped Accessibility
The Spirit of Mount Vernon The ship is handicap accessible. You must inform us during the reservation process to insure you are seated on the appropriate deck. Customers in wheelchairs must arrive by 8:00 am for special boarding. At Mount Vernon, there is a handicapped accessible shuttle van that runs every 30 minutes from where the boat docks to the Estate.
Mount Vernon Estate The first floor of the mansion is accessible to visitors with wheelchairs and walkers. Standard wheelchairs are available first-come, first-served at no cost at the Main Gate. Motorized wheelchairs, sometimes called "scooters", are not allowed in the mansion. Visitors may choose to borrow a conventional wheelchair at the Main Gate for use while touring Mount Vernon.
